We have been informed by the South of England Championship organisers that the venue has been changed.  The new venue address is:

The details for this years South of England Championships have now been confirmed.  The event will be held at Oldbury Court Estate, Bristol.  This is a pre-entry event only and further details regarding timetable of events and location can be found by following the LINK

The South of England Championships pitches riders from the South West, South and Central regions to crown the best cross rider in the South of England.  For those interested in riding, if you have competed in at least 3 South West League events, then you will be extracted from the results and awarded league points in relation to other local riders.  This means you are also competing in a 'virtual' league event, so plenty of points to be had.

A British Cycling membership with a provisional licence is a requirement.  There are no restrictions on bicycle for this event.

Due to the large entries at the first two rounds, our lap score volunteers have been very challenged, this has unfortunately resulted in a number of errors.  Firstly, many thanks for your support and patience whilst we try to rectify any issues, we want to get the result right as much as you do.  There are a couple of points that will ensure accuracy for future events:
  1. Ensure numbers are pinned on the correct side of your lower back and upper arm
  2. Ensure numbers are pinned on with full compliment of safety pins
  3. Try to wipe clean muddy numbers during the race

To assist our hard working volunteers and the promotion of the series could all competitors endeavour to return their race numbers to sign on clean and dry.

Behind the scenes the event organiser potentially faces having to clean up to 70 dirty numbers prior to the next event.  As you can imagine this is quite a time consuming job.  If every competitor cleaned one number this would save a league volunteer having to clean 70 numbers!
