SW League Round 5: Dragon Leisure Centre, Bodmin‏‎

posted 15 Oct 2009 13:14 by Roy Wyle Smith

The 2009 SW League reaches it's halfway point this Sunday as it crosses the border into Cornwall.  The well regarded and established venue at Dragon Leisure Centre provides a tough grassland circuit that descends and ascends the banks between the different playing fields.  Interspersed with gravel and a new wooded section for this year, the racing should once again be close and exciting.

A team relay event will be held following the main event at approx 1400hrs.  The format will see teams of four including at least one youth or lady competitor complete one lap of the circuit before passing the baton to the next team member.
In previous years this has made for an exciting spectacle and fitting close to the days events.

Entry is on the day and will be £4 per team.

South West Cyclo-Cross are now coming back to earth following an awesome weekend at Bicton Arena.  The event was superbly presented and run under blue skies.  Competitors were treated to a super fast circuit and dust clouds replaced the usual wet and mud.

There are a number of galleries now available following the racing at the opening round of the National Trophy Cyclo-Cross Series.  Here is a link to the Sun Web Projob cycling team website, where you can read Jan Van Dael's report:

Ann Owen's has posted a very comprehensive gallery and this can be viewed online:

Chris Paul was also snapping the action and has posted nearly 400 pics at his online album:
